UPPER BACKBENDING - FREEDOM FOR ALL LEVELS
Sunday, November 20th
For many yogis, backbending can be an intimidating action, as it is a direct contrast to many of our habitual patterns. We spend most of our days seated at a computer, driving in a car, and in other activities which cause the spine to enter a rounded state. Our bodies then adapt to these reinforced movement patterns, slowly closing off our posture, as well as our physiological and emotional states. Over time, this can lead to both intermittent and chronic pain.
Join Jessica in this workshop to learn how to safely develop a backbending practice. Simple, accessible postures will prepare the body to enter backbends and variations accessible for all levels will be offered. The workshop will include practice and discussion of anatomical considerations to prepare for backbending, as well as the positive physiological effects backbending can have on our bodies and minds. Perfect for both beginners and more seasoned yogis alike!
